Formerly known as our beloved Golden Nourish Bar, MEND and GLOW is your go-to shampoo bar for dry, textured, or curly hair that craves deep hydration without buildup. Crafted with a reduced surfactant ratio and a rich blend of nourishing oils and butters, this solid shampoo bar gently cleanses while restoring softness, shine, and manageability to dry, fragile strands.

We’ve added kokum butter, a non-comedogenic, ultra-moisturizing plant butter known for its rich emollient profile and natural hardness. This makes for a long-lasting bar that melts beautifully into curls, delivering deep moisture and smoothing frizz. Yellow clay provides a gentle detox for the scalp without over-cleansing, while panthenol (Provitamin B5) strengthens strands and adds luster. A grounding blend of ylang ylang and cedarwood essential oils offers a soft, soothing scent while supporting scalp health.

How to Use a Shampoo Bar:

1. Wet your hair thoroughly.


2. Rub the bar between your hands or directly onto your scalp to create a gentle lather.


3. Massage the lather into your scalp and down the lengths of your hair.


4. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with conditioner if needed.

Shipping

All orders will ship within 3-5 business days once the order has been placed. This may be affected by national holidays, vacation, etc. We are currently shipping via USPS Priority Mail. Once the order has shipped, the customer will receive tracking information and is responsible for tracking their shipment. May & August is not responsible for package theft or incorrect delivery. Make sure you have put in the correct shipping address at checkout.

Return policy

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.


Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.


Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
